From the outset, the owners wanted to keep the original footprint and utilise the location and magnificent views of Port Philip Bay. The two-story brick property was originally built in the early 1980s needing  an upgrade. With Services such as plumbing , improvement of energy efficiency heating/cooling, insulation and windows required improvement to reduce energy use. From a design perspective, the existing house was dated, and the new works included the upgrade to materials, finishes, fixtures, and fitting while efficiently using the existing building to prepare it for a new modern lifespan. The design of the alteration and  extension is responsive to the environment, landform, site conditions and character of coastal and bayside residential areas.
